Looking forward to an exciting 2018!

February 6, 2018

Happy New Year from our farm here in Paradise!

We are really looking forward to a bunch of exciting things coming up in 2018!

We are now in the thick of “high season” which bring lots of tourist and vacationers to our area.  We will be busy giving tours and hosting Equestrian Vacations.

If you or someone you know would like to do one of our horseback riding tours please remember to book early.  We are a small Equestrian Center that happens to do horse tours.  If you wish to ride our quality horses and have knowledgeable guides/ riding instructors you need to contact us a few days before you wish to ride.  Beach tours are also subject to the high tide which changes by almost an hour daily.  If you are a rider or a horse lover – you will want to do your vacation beach ride with us- please don’t miss the opportunity.

It’s also the beginning of a New Year and new show year here in Costa Rica!  We have lots of events coming up.

One of the most amazing things about Costa Rica is the Equestrian

Worlds enthusiasm for helping develop great riders here.

I am amazed at the clinic opportunities I have had since moving here and really look forward to the upcoming clinics of 2018!

We are coming home with lots of excitement after the Laine Ashker clinic at La Finca.  What was so great about this is that we will were able to clinic with Laine working on Stadium jumping the first day and out on the cross country course the second day.

Since all of us here at Finca Del Paraiso are fairly new to the 3 day eventing world – this gave us great opportunity to practice our Cross Country and then compete in the Derby the final day.

Laine was an amazing instructor who could push us to find our best -with the perfect balance of encouragement and praise to keep us wanting more.

Coming this month We have 2 opportunities to work with Victor Wolf Jr.

Febuary 16th and 17th Victor will be at Finca Del Paraiso for Lessons and Professional rides.  Friday will be privates and Semi Privates in the ring and Saturday we will do Cross Country in 3 different groups.  The afternoon will be reserved for more privates and training rides.

Febuary  27th and 28 we will be going to Chomes.  Victor’s family farm in Puntarenas.    We will be there to practice Cross country and for those brave souls maybe get to try out some of the new  1* course.

As far as I am concerned Chomes is a magical place.  A beautiful farm with a lovely bunk house and great meals.  Even if you don’t ride this place is just a great place to hang out and relax.

Waylon Roberts will be in Costa Rica for a clinic on the 28th and the 29th and then helping out at the 3 day Show at La Carana.   I will not be able to attend this one ( I do have to teach some lessons and make some money )  but we look forward to other opportunities to work with Waylon.  I keep bugging him to come out to Guanacaste – so hopefully this year he will come play at Finca Del Pariaso .   Any how, if you are in the San Jose are on the first weekend of March go and check it out.
